The Seven of Ska – local success story
The Seven of Ska are all things Reggae and Ska. This seven-piece band play a large repertoire of originals and hand-picked covers. Defenders of tradition, protectors of groove, rocksteady in their quest for the ultimate ska dance party, they pledge to create good vibes and get you dancing to the spirit of ska.
Inspired by the Jamaican sound of great instrumental ska bands such as The Skatalites and reggae acts such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, but produced right here in Brisbane, The Seven of Ska continue the tradition of combining ska with other influences like soul and jazz to give a new, exciting sound using a classic line up.
Guitarist and band leader Emile Regano is a graduate of Samford Valley Steiner School. Three of his teachers there are band members: Brendan Hook on Tenor Saxophone, Highvale local Dave Rule on bass and Kieran Kuskopf on drums. Trombonist and music teacher Tim Lefever is also a Highvale resident.
