Kate Barzdo
Singer / Songwriter / Multi-Instrumentalist
Kate Barzdo is a singer / songwriter and multi-instrumentalist playing Celtic harp, guitar and ukelele. Kate B’s original and traditional material spans blues, folk and the sacred. Kate has a background in community choirs, festivals, café gigs and several albums behind her. She played for 3 years with duo Sacred Earth, and in venues including Woodford Folk Festival.
Chris Bowen
Music Producer / Director
Chris Bowen has been CEO of Music Australia and Director of Music at Arts Queensland. As General Manager of Brisbane Powerhouse, the Judith Wright Arts Centre. and Director of Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre, he has produced multiple live music programs. Chris has booked music for Samford’s Christmas on Main Street and is producer and founder of Samford Live.
John Hogan
Guitarist / Educator
John Hogan started his professional musical career with a passion for guitar in Sydney rock bands. With an established reputation as guitarist and educator, John ran a Sydney studio, and a busy schedule of session work and live performing. In Brisbane John has performed at the Brisbane Jazz Club, Ipswich Jazz Festival and Parliament House.
Wendy Murray
Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist / Teacher / Therapist
Wendy Murray is a much-loved local singer, songwriter and guitarist who has performed extensively across Australia and internationally. Her original music is infused by a love of World, Folk, Blues and Jazz. Wendy has two groups Hot Mambo and trio Triple Moon and is a music therapist and music teacher.
Zoe Quinn
Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist
Zoe Quinn is a young singer / songwriter and guitarist. She draws influence from indie and folk-pop threads, infusing heartfelt lyrics, bold, passionate guitar-playing, and a compelling voice. Zoe has released an EP and single, and in 2022 played her debut London show and performed at Woodford Folk Festival.
Caroline Hammond
Singer / Songwriter
Caroline Hammond is a singer & songwriter of uncommon grace and natural musical lyricism. Since the early 90s she has performed her own music in multiple folk line-ups and appeared with a remarkable roll call of Australian musicians. She casts a wide net over multiple genres and influences including Afro-Cuban, Blues, Gospel and Australian folk.
Come & Play
Musicians, would you like to perform at Samford Live? We book artists who are proficient, entertaining, energetic, and currently active, with a following and audience appeal. We prefer acts to have some original material and like to feature local and emerging musicians. Artists are paid a fee.
