Estampa

Estampa is a World / Folk quartet based in Brisbane who mesmerise audiences with powerful and inspired performances. They evoke visions of Parisian laneways, South American sensuality, and unbridled joyous European folk-music.

Estampa ensemble includes a unique blend of violin, viola, vocals, nyckelharpa (Rebecca Karlen), button accordion (John Reeves), guitar, banjo (Paul Henderson) and double-bass (Samuel Vincent). These highly skilled and experienced musicians are drawn from diverse musical backgrounds and together perform an eclectic mix of spirited music, including Gypsy Jazz, Brazilian vocal and instrumental, Scandinavian and other World Folk music.

Evoking visions of Parisian laneways, South American sensuality, and the unbridled joy of European folk-music, this group of fiery artists appeal to a diverse and eager-to-dance audience. Expect an eclectic experience that will leave you feeling like you’ve entered a 1930’s Parisian jazz club or the streets of São Paulo.

Estampa has been selected as Musica Viva featured artists for 2024, and has performed at Woodford Folk Festival, the Mosaic festival, Le Festival and the Brisbane International Jazz Festival. They released their first self-titled album in 2017, and their second album ‘Without Borders’ at the end of May, 2021.
